Comfortable and modern, the single-cut body of the Hagstrom Ultra Swede has been cut from basswood, resulting in a super-lightweight instrument with a sweet and balanced foundation sound. The flamed maple top has also been vaulted to further enhance the playability while the D-profile of the mahogany neck has an immediately snug feel in the fret-hand. A unique detail is the fretboard, which has been made of resinator: a special 50/50 mix of wood and composite which not only has a muted, dark look and ebony-like resonant qualities, but is a more sustainable alternative to most common fretboard woods. Finishing off the sonic palette with thick, chunky and versatile output, a Custom 62 humbucker has been mounted at both the bridge and neck and couples with a mini-switch that can be flipped to split coils and deliver single-coil-style sound.
